Summer Place, "a real 50's town" is having its annual car show on
Saturday, May 29, 2010. The proceeds benefit “A Home for Every Child
Foundation.” Trophies will be awarded to the top 15 cars and People’s
Choice. T-shirts will be given to all pre-registered entries and dash
plaques given to all car entries!
Spend an enjoyable afternoon while
strolling down Memory Lane to a unique, one-of-a-kind place! Listen to
“The Nosey Joe Band” playing 50’s and 60’s rockabilly music and “Linda Lee
and the Noble Creek Band” playing country blues and old rock. Also, old
movies will be playing continuously in the movie theater! Old “500” race
cars, sprint cars, round-track cars and midgets from the 50’s will also be
on display! Burgers, fries and old-fashioned flavored cokes will be
served in our own Angel’s Diner all afternoon for $6 per person. Hot dog,
chips and drink meals for $3. Banana splits will also be available for
just $3.
Spectator admission is $5 per person (and tax deductible).
Children under 12 are free. Car show pre-registration fee is $20 and
includes a free t-shirt and admission to Summer Place. Day of show
registration fee is $20 (does not include t-shirt). Pre-registration
entries must be postmarked by May 10, 2010. Entry fees payable to “A Home
for Every Child Foundation.” All car show entries receive a dash plaque
and free admission to Summer Place. Registration is from 9 am - 12 pm.

On Sunday July 25th, the Greenfield Central Band Boosters are sponsoring
the 7th Annual Greenfield Central Cougar Pride Benefit Car Show. The show
will be held at the south parking lot of the new Greenfield Central Junior
High School, 1440 N. Franklin, Greenfield, IN. Registration is from 9:00
am to 12:00 noon with awards at 2:00 pm. Registration is $15.00 for
participants and is open to all vehicles including: antique vehicles,
street rods, muscle cars, four-wheel drives and trucks, imports,
motorcycles, race cars, and modern vehicles. The public is encouraged to
attend as there is no charge for spectators.
This will be a unique
opportunity for the public to see a broad range of automobiles from
Indiana and Ohio. There will be music, entertainment for kids of all
ages, door prizes, great food, 50/50 drawings, and awards for
participants. There will also be the 1st annual GC Boosters rummage sale
on location. Trophies will be awarded to the: Participant-voted Top 10
vehicles, Best of Show vehicle, and Directors Choice vehicle (selected by
the high school band director, Steve Angel.)
This event is an open car
show with all proceeds to be utilized to support the Greenfield Central
band and color guard programs. The high school band and color guard are
currently preparing their fall 2010 competition marching show. Several
members of the band and color guard will be helping with the show.
